\n A Denver cop has been accused of using his baton to sexually assault a protester in police custody, a report said.<\/p>\n

Police said Wednesday an internal investigation was launched into Michael Jacobs\u2019 claims that he was inapp<\/a>ropriately violated at a protest near the Civic Center on July 29, news station KDVR reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jacobs, 23, was arrested after he allegedly pushed down a fence then violently resisted officers and tried to disarm a police officer of their pepper ball gun.<\/p>\n

The protester said during the arrest, an officer used his baton to sexually assault him.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I was on the ground, and as I was completely helpless, someone took what felt to be a nightstick and just shoved it up my butt. After that it was pretty much done,\u201d Jacobs told KDVR.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the traumatizing experience I\u2019ve been through in all 23 years of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

He obtained a rape kit and doctors who evaluated him two weeks later found evidence of rectal and anal hemorrhage, KDVR reported.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been having to go to GI doctors since and have them explain to me why I have hemorrhoids bleeding out of my [sic] rectum,\u201d Jacobs said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, the people that are there to protect you, to do something so wrong, it\u2019s like I have panic attacks now, which I\u2019ve never experienced before.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jacobs faces charges in the incident for disarming a police officer \u2014 which his lawyer has dismissed as bogus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was a cover charge,\u201d attorney Matthew Greife told KDVR. \u201cThey have to charge him with something to justify why they went to him in the first place.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
