Following a teaser visual that featured a bunch of storyboard sheets, the Dorohedoro<\/em> anime<\/a> sequel has now received a key visual that sports an illustration from returning character designer Tomohiro Kishi<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was also revealed that the show is coming in spring 2026, and it\u2019ll debut globally via streaming around the same time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first Dorohedoro<\/em> season aired in 2020 and can be found on Netflix. The sequel was announced in January 2024. The anime is based on the violent, Shogakukan-published fantasy manga by Q Hayashida<\/strong>, which was serialized from 2000 to 2018 and has been collected into 23 tankobon volumes. Viz Media<\/a> describes it as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

In a city so dismal it\u2019s known only as \u201cthe Hole,\u201d a clan of Sorcerers have been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious \u201cexperiments\u201d in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they\u2019re hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they\u2019ll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of \u201ccleaners\u201d into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Director Yuichiro Hayashi<\/strong>\u00a0(Attack on Titan Final Season<\/em>) and animation production studio\u00a0MAPP<\/a>A<\/strong> are also returning for the sequel. The first season\u2019s staff credits include\u00a0Hiroshi Seko<\/strong>\u00a0(Attack on Titan Final Season<\/em>) as series<\/a> composer\u00a0and\u00a0Yuki Nomoto<\/strong> as 3DCG director.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The manga debuted in the now-defunct Monthly IKKI. It later moved to the also-now-defunct Hibana before ending in Monthly Shonen Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n
