Mark Wahlberg<\/strong> and alcohol don\u2019t mix well when TV interviews are involved.<\/p>\n

In 2013, the Flight Risk<\/em> star app<\/a>eared on an episode of The Graham Norton Show<\/em> alongside Sarah Silverman<\/strong> and Michael Fassbender<\/strong> to promote his film Broken City<\/em>. But chaos quickly ensued as fans noticed he hijacked the spotlight constantly cutting off his fellow actors, sitting sluggishly, kissing Sarah, and even at one point straddling the host. And over 12 years later, Norton still can\u2019t forget it.<\/p>\n

The talk show host attended the 2025 Henley Literary Festival<\/strong> over the weekend, where he alleged Mark showed up to the infamous interview \u201cdrunk.\u201d Per The Independent<\/em>, he said:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you ever see a drunk person on the show, it\u2019s because they\u2019ve arrived drunk \u2014 we have not made that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cMark Wahlberg was a weird one because when he arrived, he didn\u2019t seem drunk. He told me about his film, told me a couple of stories about stunts going wrong or whatever, and then it was only 15 minutes into the show when whatever the hell was in his system really took hold \u2014 and it was hell.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Like we mentioned, at one point in the February 2013 episode, Mark sat on Graham\u2019s lap and played with his nipples. WTAF!<\/p>\n

Norton noted that neither he, nor Sarah Silverman or Michael Fassbender \u201ccould tell a story\u201d because the Ted star would \u201cjust interrupt.\u201d He recalled:<\/p>\n

\u201cAt one stage, Michael Fassbender was telling a story \u2026 he was really getting into the heart of the anecdote. I thought, \u2018This one is going well \u2014 I wonder why,\u2019 and I looked over at Mark Wahlberg and he was asleep. So yeah, we don\u2019t encourage that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Norton also addressed rumors that show producers intentionally try to get guests drunk, clarifying, \u201cWe really don\u2019t.\u201d The 62-year-old added:<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019ll be a drink waiting for you if you want one and then, while we\u2019re showing a clip or getting the music ready, they might be able to rush in and top you up, but the most you can have is two, three tops. So if anyone does want to appear on the show and be drunk, my tip to you would be pre-load.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Unless you\u2019re Mark Wahlberg\u2026 Then maybe just stick to water. Ha! Months after backlash over the viral interview, the Patriots Day<\/em> star addressed his behavior in an interview with Digital Spy<\/em>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI tried to do a bit, and some people took it a little too seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Norton also spoke to the outlet at the time, assuring fans Mark is a \u201creally lovely guy\u201d overall:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all done that thing where you suddenly realize, \u2018I\u2019m by far the drunkest person at this dinner party\u2019 and you don\u2019t know how that happened. It was a bit like that, so I don\u2019t judge him harshly at all. It was just a thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
