The OLM<\/strong>-produced Dark Gathering<\/em> TV anime<\/a>, about a girl with strong spiritual powers searching for her mother, is getting a second season set in Kyoto. A menacing teaser visual was released with the announcement.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a pre-prepared comment, returning director\u00a0Hiroshi Ikehata<\/strong>\u00a0(Tonikawa: Over The Moon For You<\/em>) said of the continuation, \u201cIt\u2019s a second season. Not a split-cour continuation, but a true \u2018we\u2019re making this because it was popular\u2019 Season 2.\u00a0<\/span>That\u2019s something truly special and makes me extremely happ<\/a>y as a creator. This was only possible thanks to the fans in Japan and around the world who have loved <\/span>Dark Gathering<\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dark Gathering<\/em>\u2018s first season was a two-cour offering that debuted in July 2023. It adapts the Shueisha-published manga by\u00a0Kenichi Kondo<\/strong>, which began serialization in Jump Square in 2019 and has 18 volumes as of August 2025. Viz Media<\/a> describes the manga\u2019s premise as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

Keitaro is ready to stop living as a shut-in. He\u2019s starting university. He\u2019s reconnecting with his childhood friend. He\u2019s taking a tutoring job. And he\u2019s not messing around with ghosts anymore. At least that\u2019s what he thinks, until he finds out the elementary schooler he\u2019s tutoring is an occult-obsessed genius who\u2019s hunting down dangerous spirits and won\u2019t stop until she\u2019s found the one that took her mom!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The returning cast includes Yu Sasahara<\/b>\u00a0as Yayoi Hozuki,\u00a0Nobunaga Shimazaki<\/b>\u00a0as Keitaro Gentoga,\u00a0Kana Hanazawa\u00a0<\/strong>as Eiko Hozuki, and\u00a0Rina Kawaguchi<\/strong>\u00a0as Ai Kamiyo.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
