\n\tAnemone<\/em>, the directorial debut of Ronan Day-Lewis, featuring the return to the big screen of his three-time Oscar-winning father Daniel Day-Lewis, will open this year\u2019s Camerimage film festival, the world\u2019s leading fest devoted to the art of cinematography.<\/p>\n

\n\tDaniel Day-Lewis plays Ray, a hermit who has spent the last 20 years away from humanity, in a cabin deep in the woods, nursing the trauma he suffered as a child. His solitude is interrupted by the arrival of his brother Jem (Sean Bean), who is looking for a connection with his son Brian (Samuel Bottomley), and seeking Ray\u2019s help.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnemone premiered at the New York Film Festival, where it was praised by The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2018s chief reviewer David Rooney, for Day-Lewis\u2019s \u201criveting performance\u201d and the stunning visuals of Cinematographer Ben Fordesman, whose \u201carresting widescreen images of the Northern English landscapes and dense woodlands create a sweeping canvas.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnemone<\/em> exemplifies the kind of filmmaking that defines the spirit of EnergaCAMERIMAGE,\u201d the festival said in a statement. \u201cCinema where image and emotion intertwine to create a profound artistic experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFordesman\u2019s other credits include Rose Glass\u2019 Saint Maud<\/em> and Love Lies Bleeding<\/em>, and Dylan Southern\u2019s The Thing With Feathers<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\n\tAnemone completes the 2025 Camerimage lineup. The festival unveiled the rest of its competition titles on Wednesday. Some of the most visually arresting movies<\/a> of the year, including Ryan Coogler\u2019s\u00a0Sinners<\/em>, shot by Autumn Durald Arkapaw,\u00a0Chlo\u00e9 Zhao\u2019s\u00a0Hamnet<\/em>, photographed by \u0141ukasz \u017bal,\u00a0Joseph Kosinski\u2019s\u00a0F1: The Movie<\/em>, lensed by Claudio Miranda,\u00a0James Mangold\u2019s\u00a0A Complete Unknown<\/em>, shot by Phedon Papamichael, Kathryn Bigelow\u2019s\u00a0A\u00a0<\/em>House of Dynamite<\/em>, filmed by Barry Ackroyd are among the titles in the running for this year\u2019s Golden Frog award for best film. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2025 Camerimage festival runs Nov. 15-23 in Toru\u0144, Poland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
