What a mess. But now, in a candid interview with <em>Self<\/em>, she\u2019s opening up about it in a way she hasn\u2019t before \u2014 and hopefully it will help others who have gone through similar struggles. On the divorce, Brittany offered some rare insight into the split, beginning:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\" class=\"lazy-ad-parent\">\n<div id=\"section-690dff228e46c-paragraph-slot\" class=\"incontent-ad lazy-ad-slot\" data-base-div-id=\"pb-slot-incontent-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI think people forget that when I got married, I got married to a real estate agent. He wasn\u2019t even in my business whatsoever. He was definitely not a reality star.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Brittany definitely \u201cdid not sign up for that.\u201d But there she was, married to a man who was crossing the line in front of millions of <strong>Netflix<\/strong> viewers. She recalls feeling out of control:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt felt like it was a running snowball that I couldn\u2019t catch. I didn\u2019t know what the heck was going on because it was so public and I couldn\u2019t control it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\" class=\"lazy-ad-parent\">\n<div id=\"section-690dff228e470-paragraph-slot\" class=\"incontent-ad lazy-ad-slot\" data-base-div-id=\"pb-slot-incontent-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, she says she\u2019s in a better place with it all:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI know the truth\u2026. That\u2019s all that matters.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But at the time? The\u00a0<em>X<\/em> star was in so much pain over what was h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening in her marriage that she struggled to eat after the split. By treating herself with kid gloves. More or less literally. She started talking to herself \u201clike a kid\u201d. She explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d be like, \u2018OK, baby girl, do you want a bagel? Let\u2019s get you a bagel. We\u2019re going to toast it. We\u2019re going to put some cream cheese on it. Is that all you can eat? Okay, that\u2019s okay.\u2019 I started realizing that I was eating whatever I wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\" class=\"lazy-ad-parent\">\n<div id=\"section-690dff228e475-paragraph-slot\" class=\"incontent-ad lazy-ad-slot\" data-base-div-id=\"pb-slot-incontent-2\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>She revealed that little trick worked so well and \u201ccompletely changed my way of thinking about my body\u201d. In fact, the <em>John Tucker Must Die<\/em> alum\u00a0continues to utilize it to this day! She continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was talking to myself like someone I loved. And then I just never stopped doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Aww. We\u2019re glad to hear Brittany has found that love for herself, especially after all she\u2019s been through.
