Kris Boyd<\/strong> is fighting for his life.<\/p>\n

The New York Jets<\/strong> cornerback is currently in critical condition after being struck in an NYC shooting. The New York Post<\/em> cited police and team officials in reporting the 29-year-old, who signed to the Jets in March of this year, was shot in Midtown early on Sunday morning. He was rushed to the Bellevue Hospital<\/strong>, where he\u2019s now fighting for his life.<\/p>\n

According to police, Boyd was outside Sei Less<\/strong> restaurant at around 2:00 a.m. when an argument turned violent and an unnamed shooter fired two rounds, striking the athlete in the abdomen. Law enforcement sources told the outlet the shooter was fleeing in a BMW X8 <\/strong>SUV, while a Mercedes-Benz Maybach<\/strong>, was seen fleeing the scene. However, eyewitnesses are not currently cooperating with cops. A Rhino GX<\/strong> armored SUV was also spotted at the crime scene.<\/p>\n

Jets representatives have since issued the following statement:<\/p>\n
