Tori Spelling<\/strong> has a theory about why Hilary Swank<\/strong> got fired from Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Remember that? Hilary got the principal role of Carly Reynolds during the eighth season in 1997. However, she did not stay on the show for long. She got written out after only 16 episodes. Damn. But why? The exact reason is unknown, but Tori has a guess!<\/p>\n

During a new episode of the 90210MG<\/em> podcast on Friday, the 52-year-old actress reminded her co-host Jennie Garth<\/strong> that Hilary was \u201csigned on as a full-time cast member\u201d but got the boot mid-way through the season. Tori thinks it wasn\u2019t because of the Million Dollar Baby<\/em> star\u2019s acting, though. She believes it was all because the writing didn\u2019t propel Hilary\u2019s character forward. Talking about the first episode of Season 8, Tori said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think the writing was great in this episode.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jennie agreed, saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, no, I didn\u2019t, either.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Podcast producer Amy<\/strong> echoed the sentiments, saying she thought \u201cHilary Swank was not good\u201d in the show for a long time. However, re-watching the episode now, she realized it wasn\u2019t the Camp Wilder<\/em> alum\u2019s fault. Amy explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not that she wasn\u2019t good. She actually is good. It\u2019s that they wrote her so ridiculously. Like, she comes in hot. She\u2019s kind of awful from the start.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Although getting fired sucks, it ultimately was the best thing for her. As Amy pointed out, Hilary was able to star in Boys Don\u2019t Cry<\/em> because she was no longer on 90210<\/em>. She then got the Oscar<\/strong> for Best Actress for her role in the film. The podcast producer said:<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause she gets let go from this show early, and that\u2019s why she got Boys Don\u2019t Cry, because she was free to audition.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
