\n\tAfter being arrested and charged in Singapore, the man who rushed and grabbed\u00a0Ariana Grande\u00a0on the\u00a0Wicked: For Good<\/em>\u00a0red carpet last week has been deported and banned from the country. <\/p>\n

\n\tJohnson Wen, a 26-year-old Australian, was initially charged with \u201cbeing a public nuisance,\u201d\u00a0according to the BBC<\/a>. He posted on Instagram that he was already \u201cfree after being arrested\u201d in an incident that reportedly \u201ccaused massive outrage\u201d in Singapore. <\/p>\n

\n\tBut now the BBC reports <\/a>that after being\u00a0sentenced to nine days in prison<\/a>, Wen has been \u201cbarred from re-entering Singapore\u201d per the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe original incident happ<\/a>ened during the premiere for Wicked: For Good<\/em>. As the cast walked the red carpet, Wen broke through past photographers and threw his arms around Grande, leaving her appearing very shaken. Grande\u2019s\u00a0Wicked: For Good<\/em>\u00a0co-star\u00a0Cynthia Erivo\u00a0immedia<\/a>tely jumped in to shove the fan away and then protectively put her arms around Grande.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring an appearance\u00a0<\/a>on NBC\u2019s\u00a0Today<\/em>\u00a0on Thursday, Erivo explained of the moment she rushed to Grande: \u201cI wasn\u2019t really thinking. I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe. I\u2019m sure he didn\u2019t mean us harm, but you never know with those things, and I wanted to make sure that she was OK. That was my first instinct.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGrande has not commented on the incident. <\/p>\n

\n\tWen refers to himself as the \u201cTroll Most Hated\u201d on his Instagram and reportedly has a history of pulling similar stunts. He has previously posted clips of him disrupting other events \u2014 such as jumping onstage at concerts by Katy Perry, The Weeknd and The Chainsmokers, as well as running onto the field at sporting events.<\/p>\n
