\n Chris Rock<\/a> blamed the Democrats for letting \u201cthe pandemic come in\u201d by focusing too much on trying to impeach President Trump,\u00a0 according to a new report.<\/p>\n

The comedia<\/a>n, 55, opened up in a wide-ranging interview with the New York Times<\/a> in which he touched on the current state of politics and discussed his new show \u201cFargo.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rock said it was up to leading Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to keep Trump in check, using the 1987 Academy Award-winning movie \u201cThe Last Emperor\u201d to compare Trump to the 5-year-old who takes the throne in China in the flick.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo I\u2019m like, it\u2019s all the Democrats\u2019 fault. Because you knew that the emperor was 5 years old,\u201d Rock told the New York Times. \u201cAnd when the emperor\u2019s 5 years old, they only lead in theory. There\u2019s usually an adult who\u2019s like, \u2018OK, this is what we\u2019re really going to do.’\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cAnd it was totally up to Pelosi and the Democrats. Their thing was, \u2018We\u2019re going to get him impeached,\u2019 which was never going to happ<\/a>en. You let the pandemic come in. Yes, we can blame Trump, but he\u2019s really the 5-year-old.\u201d<\/p>\n

The funnyman then slammed both parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cPut it this way: Republicans tell outright lies. Democrats leave out key pieces of the truth that would lead to a more nuanced argument,\u201d he said. \u201cIn a sense, it\u2019s all fake news<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rock also shared his thoughts on the job Trump is doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cPart of the reason we\u2019re in the predicament we\u2019re in is, the president\u2019s a landlord,\u201d he said. \u201cNo one has less compassion for humans than a landlord. And we\u2019re shocked he\u2019s not engaged.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Rock called protests happening now around the country against police brutality and racial inequality \u201cthe second great civil rights movement,\u201d adding that racism is \u201creal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not going away,\u201d he continued. \u201cI said this before, but Obama becoming the president, it\u2019s progress for white people. It\u2019s not progress for Black people. It\u2019s the Jackie Robinson thing. It\u2019s written like he broke a barrier, as if there weren\u2019t Black people that could play before him. And that\u2019s how white people have learned about racism.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey think, when these people work hard enough, they\u2019ll be like Jackie. And the real narrative should be that these people, the Black people, are being abused by a group of people that are mentally handicapped. And we\u2019re trying to get them past their mental handicaps to see that all people are equal.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
