\n\tThe\u00a0International Film Festival Rotterdam\u00a0(IFFR)\u00a0is adding a focused immersive projects program, organizers said on Thursday as they unveiled titles for the 2026 co-production market and works-in-progress section.<\/p>\n

\n\tIFFR unveiled a selection of 21 feature projects for the 43rd edition of\u00a0CineMart, its co-production market, which will be running Feb. 1-4, as well as 10 projects for its Darkroom works-in-progress platform.<\/p>\n

\n\tNew for 2026, six of the\u00a0CineMart\u00a0titles have been selected for the inaugural\u00a0CineMart x HBF\u00a0lineup, a curated strand of projects previously awarded development support by IFFR\u2019s Hubert Bals Fund<\/a> (HBF). <\/p>\n

Additionally, immersive media<\/a> projects will for the first time be presented under the banner\u00a0Lightroom, a new IFFR industry platform for immersive storytelling.\u00a0\u201cLightroom\u00a0brings together all XR, VR and interactive projects previously presented across\u00a0CineMart\u00a0and\u00a0Darkroom, creating one unified space for immersive work,\u201d the fest said. \u201cLightroom\u00a0strengthens IFFR\u2019s long-running commitment to innovative audiovisual formats by offering a clearer pathway for development, visibility, and exchange.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe full selection of\u00a0Lightroom\u00a0projects will be unveiled in December, alongside details of a dedicated symposium on the future of immersive storytelling.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTogether, these developments reflect the continued evolution of IFFR Pro, strengthening the festival\u2019s commitment towards alumni and the pathways that connect artistic development, co-production, financing and new forms of audiovisual storytelling across the festival,\u201d IFFR said.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2026\u00a0CineMart\u00a0selection includes \u201cthe audacious urban comedy\u00a0The Dispute<\/em>\u00a0by debut U.S. directors Andrea Ellsworth and Kasey Elise Walker, acquired by Riley Keough\u2019s Felix Culpa and Donald Glover\u2019s Gilga for feature development, alongside the exploration of trans friendship\u00a0Worse Together<\/em>\u00a0by Canadian filmmaker Luis De Filippis (Something You Said Last Night,<\/em>\u00a0IFFR Youth Jury Award 2023),\u201d IFFR highlighted.<\/p>\n

\n\tBeirut Baby<\/em>, Birdwoman<\/em>, and When the Goats Came<\/em> are titles of other featured projects. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBalancing breakthrough talent and celebrated auteurs at the height of their careers, this year\u2019s selections underline CineMart\u2019s role as a place where discovery and established filmmaking meet,\u201d said Marten Rabarts, head of IFFR Pro. \u201cThe urgency is palpable: from stories grapp<\/a>ling with war and displacement to narratives exploring climate change, queerness and the struggle to define and preserve identities in turbulent times, all amongst bold cinematic creativity and forays into genres including sci-fi, horror and musical.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t The 55th edition of IFFR is taking place Jan. 29-Feb. 8. <\/p>\n
