\n Eric Trump will cooperate with New York state Attorney General<\/a> Letitia James\u2019 probe into possible financial misdeeds by the Trump Organization \u2014 but not until after the election, his lawyers said in a new court filing.<\/p>\n

\u201cCounsel for Mr. Trump has made clear that he is willing to app<\/a>ear pursuant to the subpoena, and have also proposed four available dates after the presidential election,\u201d wrote lawyers Amy Carlin and Alan Futerfas in the papers filed Thursday in Manhattan Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

The lawyers said Eric Trump had proposed several dates after the election for the under-oath grilling due to his \u201cextreme travel<\/a> schedule\u201d and \u201cto avoid the use of his deposition attendance for political purposes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AG has been in \u201cweekly if not at times daily talks\u201d for 18 months with the Trump Organization and its employees as part of an investigation into whether the president and his company exaggerated the value of his assets to obtain loans and tax breaks, the filing states.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the importance of avoiding any appearance of politicizing the investigatory process, we respectfully submit that the proposed dates are reasonable,\u201d Eric Trump\u2019s lawyers wrote.<\/p>\n

The AG\u2019s office previously filed a motion alleging that the president\u2019s son had \u201crefused entirely to comply\u201d with the subpoena, asking a judge to force him to sit for questioning.<\/p>\n

The AG has also accused the Trump Organization and its staffers of refusing to hand over financial records.<\/p>\n

Trump has slammed James\u2019 investigation, saying she is \u201charassing all of my New York businesses in search of anything at all they can find to make me look as bad as possible.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
