A \u201cREBOOT project\u201d of the World Trigger<\/em> anime<\/a> has been announced with a teaser visual depicting the character Yuma Kuga.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Further details about the new anime and what exactly the \u201cREBOOT\u201d in the name entails are currently unknown.<\/span><\/p>\n

World Trigger<\/em> is based on the Shueisha-published action manga by Daisuke Ashihara<\/strong>, in which Earth battles against monsters called Neighbors. It previously inspired three seasons, with the 2014 first season having the longest episode count at 73 (the latter two had 12 and 14 episodes). Season 3 premiered in 2021 with a staff lineup that included returning Season 2 names\u00a0Morio Hatano<\/strong> (series<\/a> director), Hiroyuki Yoshino<\/strong> (series composer), Toshihisa Kaiya<\/strong> (character designer and chief animation director), Rumiko Nagai<\/strong> (color designer), and\u00a0Kenji Kawai<\/strong> (music composer). Toei Animation<\/strong> served as the animation production company.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cast included Tomo Muranaka<\/strong>\u00a0as Y\u016bma Kuga,\u00a0Yuki Kaji<\/strong>\u00a0as Osamu Mikumo,\u00a0Nao Tamura<\/strong>\u00a0as Chika Amatori,\u00a0Yuichi Nakamura<\/strong>\u00a0as Y\u016bichi Jin, and\u00a0Nobunaga Shimazaki<\/strong>\u00a0as Hyuse.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is a slot for World Trigger<\/em> at Jump Festa 2026\u2019s Jump Super Stage, so more details are likely to be revealed then.<\/span><\/p>\n

The manga began in 2013 in Weekly Shonen Jump (it moved to Jump Square in 2918) and has 28 volumes as of February 2025. MANGA Plus describes the synopsis as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

Earth is under constant threat from Neighbors, invincible monsters from another dimension that destroy our way of life. At least we have the elite warriors of Border, who co-opt alien technology<\/a> to fight back! Our hero Osamu Mikumo may not be the best agent, but he\u2019ll do whatever it takes to defend life on Earth as we know it.
