Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle<\/em> has been nominated for Best Motion Picture \u2013 Animated at the Golden Globes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The anime<\/a> franchise film is competing against Arco<\/em>, Elio<\/em>, KPop Demon Hunters<\/em>, Little Amelie<\/em> or the Character of Rain<\/em>, and Zootopia 2<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Previous anime Golden Globe nominees include Mamoru Hosoda<\/strong>\u2018s Mirai<\/em>, Makoto Shinkai<\/strong>\u2018s Suzume<\/em>, and Hayao Miyazaki<\/strong>\u2018s The Boy and the Heron<\/em>. The Boy and the Heron<\/em>, which was nominated the same year as Suzume<\/em>, won the award.<\/span><\/p>\n

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle\u00a0<\/em>had its general<\/a> theatrical release in the US on September 12, after premiering in Japan on on July 18. The film is the first in a planned trilogy that depicts the final battles of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba\u00a0<\/em>anime series<\/a>, which adapt the\u00a0Shueisha-published manga by\u00a0Koyoharu Gotouge<\/strong>. The global hit has made more than US$750 million globally (US$768,943,856 according to Box Office Mojo, ~US$780,032,099 according to The Numbers) after its China release.<\/span><\/p>\n

Haruo Sotozaki<\/strong> directed the film at\u00a0ufotable<\/strong>, which is also credited with script<\/a> production.<\/span><\/p>\n
