Plus, cinematographer Adam Suzin was awarded the Golden Frog for best first feature at Camerimage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tInspired by true stories, the film stars Milan Ondr\u00edk as the titular father Michal, a devoted family man who, as a result of a temporary memory lapse and a resulting tragedy, sees his life spiraling out of control. Emotionally and visually immersive, the film from Danae Production, Moloko Film, and Lava Films, explores such <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>s as memory, love, grief, guilt and forgiveness.\u00a0Intra<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> is handling sales for <em>Father<\/em>, a trailer for which you can check out here.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Father (Otec, 2025) - International Trailer with English Subtitles\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Y0T_5i6ZE98?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tNvotov\u00e1 tells <em>THR<\/em> that the cinematic language of the film was just as important for her as the story itself. \u201cWhen I found out about this story, I thought, \u2018I don\u2019t know how to film this. It\u2019s impossible!\u2019,\u201d she recalls. \u201cI thought it was just going to be this excruciating tragedy that nobody wants to see.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBut she found a way to handle this challenge. \u201cI felt it shouldn\u2019t be done in a conventional way, where everything unfolds from an objective point of view,\u201d she says. \u201cI thought, if\u00a0the audience was\u00a0completely absorbed in Michal\u2019s perspective,\u00a0then it would add both empathy and ambiguity at once. I wanted to create something immersive and experiential. That\u2019s also why we used very long shots that flow from one scene to another, like in life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t[SPOILER WARNING: This paragraph contains spoilers about the plot and characters in <em>Father<\/em>.] <br \/>What <em>Father<\/em> explores is a phenomenon known as \u201cForgotten Baby Syndrome,\u201d and if you are not aware of it, don\u2019t worry \u2014 the filmmaker wasn\u2019t aware of it either before taking on the movie. \u201cBefore I met my co-writer, I had\u00a0heard\u00a0stories and\u00a0read\u00a0articles about\u00a0parents forgetting\u00a0their child in a car,\u201d she tells <em>THR<\/em>. \u201cI always\u00a0assumed\u00a0that these were cases of neglect,\u00a0that they\u00a0deliberately left\u00a0them or something. And then I met Du\u0161an, who told me the\u00a0tragic\u00a0story of his best friend, who\u00a0forgot his own child in the car.\u00a0He was there right with him after it happened and through this whole period afterwards, and it completely changed my perspective on\u00a0the subject.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tScary and eye-opening alike is the fact that this phenomenon is not as uncommon as one would think. \u201cWhat\u2019s very interesting is that it doesn\u2019t happen only to men or women or certain ages or this or that demographic or whatever,\u201d says Nvotov\u00e1. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter. It happens to everyone. It\u2019s basically about the architecture of our minds and how memory works.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tShe concludes: \u201cThere is this layer of tragedy, of course. Star Ondr\u00edk even told the director that it was the most difficult role he\u2019s ever taken on.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe cinematography, including a nearly 20-minute single-shot scene, was also designed with one core focus: \u201cWe are in Michal\u2019s head, and we feel like he feels,\u201d says Nvotov\u00e1. \u201cAnd sometimes we are even going where he wants to go in his head. For example, when he\u2019s in the court and he loses himself in the world outside the window, the camera flies out of the window.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThe result is a lot of raw emotion, complexity and ambiguity. \u201cIt would have been very easy to make him a victim or a villain,\u201d says the writer-director. \u201cI didn\u2019t want that, so I was always trying to walk the edge between these feelings and questions, but without giving the audience answers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAnd she is happy about the reactions she has been getting. \u201cMany people are writing me messages to say how the film ignited conversations,\u201d she shares. \u201cThat is what I love.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\t<em>Father<\/em> is also the kind of story and cinema the filmmaker loves. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tSays Nvotov\u00e1: \u201cI\u2019m picking stories I want to tell. If I can\u2019t stop thinking about it, if it makes me question my reality, like with this, that\u2019s perfect.
