{"id":702935,"date":"2025-12-10T11:10:53","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T08:10:53","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2025-12-10T11:10:53","modified_gmt":"2025-12-10T08:10:53","slug":"nas-dj-premiers-light-years-tracklist-extends-their-legacy-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/nas-dj-premiers-light-years-tracklist-extends-their-legacy-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Nas &amp; DJ Premier\u2019s \u2018Light-Years\u2019 Tracklist Extends Their Legacy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nas and DJ Premier have revealed the tracklist for their long-awaited joint album <em>Light-Years<\/em>, and it&#8217;s guaranteed to stoke the excitement even more.<\/p>\n<p>The hip-hop veterans took to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> on Monday (December 8) to give fans their first look at the eagerly anticipated project, which drops this Friday (December 12) via Mass <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>eal Records.<\/p>\n<p><em>Light-Years<\/em> clocks in at 15 songs and includes sequels to some of Nas and Premo&#8217;s most iconic tracks, adding to their legacy as one of the greatest rapper-producer duos of all time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;N.Y. State of Mind Pt. 3&#8221; serves as the third installment in their gritty, Rotten Apple-centric <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> which began on <em>Illmatic<\/em> and continued on <em>I Am&#8230;<\/em>, while &#8220;3rd Childhood&#8221; is the follow-up to &#8220;2nd Childhood,&#8221; a storytelling-driven standout from <em>Stillmatic<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The guest list also nods to Nas&#8217; decorated past, with longtime partner-in-rhyme AZ making the sole feature on the album (on &#8220;My Story Your Story&#8221;). I don\u2019t know about anybody else, but for me and him, it was personally a long time coming for us to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Light-Years<\/em> will mark the seventh and final installment in Mass Appeal Records&#8217; <em>Legend Has It&#8230;<\/em> series, a year-long victory lap of releases from some of New York hip-hop&#8217;s most iconic names.<\/p>\n<p>Slick Rick kickstarted things in June with his comeback LP <em>Victory<\/em>, before passing the baton to Raekwon (<em>The Emperor&#8217;s New Clothes<\/em>), Ghostface Killah (<em>Supreme Clientele 2<\/em>), Mobb Deep (<em>Infinite<\/em>), the late Big L (<em>Harlem&#8217;s Finest: Return of the King<\/em>) and De La Soul (<em>Cabin in the Sky<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s 1995 all over again,\u201d Nas, who co-owns Mass Appeal Records, told <em>Rolling Stone<\/em> of the series. \u201cSometimes I feel like 2025 has that feeling &#8230; [That] urgency, that vibration, the celebration of life and these songs and these albums, what they meant 30 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cIt\u2019s a celebration of a great impact, a standard that they set that we could never forget because it keeps us aiming higher.
