Most of that money is expected to fund infrastructure projects.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Census Bureau data reportedly shows that private spending on data center construction was running at annualized run rate of more than $41 billion\u00a0\u2014 roughly the same as state and local government spending on transportation construction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All these projects are likely to compete for construction workers just as the industry faces labor shortages from retirements and President Donald Trump\u2019s immigration crackdown.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Andrew Anagnost, CEO of architecture and design software maker Autodesk, told Bloomberg there\u2019s \u201cabsolutely no doubt\u201d that data center construction \u201csucks resources from other projects.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI guarantee you a lot of those [infrastructure] projects are not going to move as fast as people want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
