A 16th season for the long-running <\/span>Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai<\/span><\/i> TV anime<\/a> series<\/a> will begin broadcasting in Japan on January 11, 2026. A <\/span>new visual<\/span> was also released on the anime\u2019s official Twitter<\/a>\/X account and TV Tokyo\u2019s official website.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Akira Funada<\/b> (director from Seasons 11-15) is directing the anime\u2019s 16th season, with <\/span>Hiromu Kumamoto <\/b>(<\/span>Ninja Collection<\/span><\/i>), <\/span>Mitsuhiro Sasaki <\/b>(<\/span>KJ File<\/span><\/i>), and <\/span>Kanako Ishigami<\/b> (<\/span>Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai<\/span><\/i> Season 15) as script<\/a>writers. <\/span>ILCA<\/b> is in charge of the animation production for the series.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kanji Tsuda<\/b> reprises his role as the Storyteller in the series. Several more cast members will also voice various characters throughout the season, which include:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
