\n\tThe Ashleigh Banfield-sized hole at News<\/a>Nation has officially been filled: Katie Pavlich is set to take over her 10 p.m. ET slot as the host of her own program. Pavlich\u2019s show, \u201cfocusing on the day\u2019s biggest political news stories,\u201d per NewsNation, will debut in early 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to give our primetime viewers an additional hour of political news and analysis that helps them make sense of the day\u2019s most important headlines,\u201d\u00a0said Sean Compton, president of Nexstar Networks. \u201cNewsNation has always been committed to delivering straightforward, fact-based journalism for\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0Americans, which includes presenting diverse viewpoints and original ideas. Katie is a seasoned journalist and commentator, and we believe her unique voice will be a tremendous asset to our primetime audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBanfield will focus her efforts on digital true-crime programming going forward. Banfield<\/em> was a true crime program (on linear TV). <\/p>\n

\n\tPavlich spent the past 16 years as news editor of the conservative website\u00a0Townhall.com. She\u2019s a regular contributor to Fox News Channel and a fill-in co-host on The Five<\/em>. Pavlich\u2019s authorship includes Fast and Furious: Barack Obama\u2019s Bloodiest Scandal\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Assault & Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women.<\/em>\u00a0So she\u2019s \u2026 that<\/em> kind of journalist. Pavlich holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Arizona.<\/p>\n

\n\tBanfield<\/em> will sign off next month, and NewsNation\u2019s primetime lineup will soon look like this:
