The long-running <\/span>My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i> TV anime<\/a> series<\/a> finished its broadcast run this past weekend and received two visuals to commemorate its conclusion. The <\/span>eighth and final season<\/span> premiered in Japan on October 4, 2025 and ended on December 13, 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A visual of all the members of U.A. High School\u2019s Class 1-A was released to mark the anime\u2019s final episode broadcast. An English version of the visual was also posted on the show\u2019s official English Twitter<\/a>\/X.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The staff for the eighth season consisted of <\/span>Kenji Nagasaki <\/b>as chief director,<\/span> Naomi Nakayama<\/b> as director, <\/span>Yosuke Kuroda <\/b>as series composer, <\/span>Yoshihiko Umakoshi<\/b> and <\/span>Hitomi Odashima<\/b> as character designers, and <\/span>Yuki Hayashi <\/b>as music composer.<\/span> Bones Film<\/b> is in charge of the animation production, with<\/span> Bones<\/b> in charge of the production supervision.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The first TV anime season debuted in 2016, while the seventh season was released in May 2024. The series has also inspired four anime films, including 2024\u2019s <\/span>My Hero Academia The Movie: You\u2019re Next<\/span><\/i>. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series and films in select countries and territories worldwide.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The franchise also spawned several manga spinoffs, novels, video game<\/a>s, stage plays, artbooks, and guidebooks. An upcoming <\/span>Hollywood live-action film<\/span> is also being developed.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The original manga series by <\/span>Kohei Horikoshi<\/b> was serialized in Shueisha\u2019s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 7, 2014 to August 5, 2024. Forty-two total tankobon volumes were published. A spinoff titled <\/span>My Hero Academia: Vigilantes<\/span><\/i> was published from 2016 to 2022 and received its own TV anime adaptation, which will have its <\/span>second season debut on January 5, 2026<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

VIZ Media licensed the <\/span>My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i> manga for English release, describing the main premise as:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn\u2019t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny.<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n
