\n\tBowen Yang has clocked out from his final Saturday Night Live<\/em> shift.<\/p>\n

\n\tYang said goodbye to the sketch comedy series<\/a> with a heartfelt sketch where he played a Delta employee working his last shift. While helping customers at the eggnog station, he said, \u201cOh, sorry, my machine\u2019s kind of breaking down, so I\u2019m closing my station. This is my last shift.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYeah, it\u2019s sad. I\u2019m gonna miss everything about this place. The smells, celebrities would come through. You know, just last week, Josh O\u2019Connor was here,\u201d he joked. (O\u2019Connor hosted SNL<\/em>\u2018s Dec. 13 installment, which aired a week prior.) <\/p>\n

\n\tYang got on the phone with Ariana Grande\u2018s (who hosted the episode) character Rhonda, who said, \u201cI wish you were home, but I\u2019m so proud of you. All the eggnog you\u2019ve made over the years. Some of it was great, some of it was rotten.\u201d He replied, \u201cA lot of it got cut.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know, I also think Eggnog\u2019s kind of like me,\u201d Yang said, continuing, \u201cIt\u2019s not for everyone, but the people who like it are my kind of people.\u201d He then launched into singing a rendition of \u201cPlease Come Home for Christmas,\u201d as he continued to help more customers (aka his co-stars) as they wished him good luck. <\/p>\n

\n\tGrande later entered the stage, telling Yang, \u201cI wouldn\u2019t miss your last shift for the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI can\u2019t believe you\u2019re retiring,\u201d the Wicked<\/em> star added. Yang replied, \u201cI just wanted to go out on top,\u201d which led to Grande joking, \u201cOh, everyone knows you\u2019re a bottom.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tYang then subliminally shared his gratitude for his time on SNL<\/em> in between tears.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh Rhonda, I should have come home earlier. I just feel so lucky that I ever got to work here,\u201d Yang said. \u201cAnd I just wanted to enjoy it for a little bit longer. Especially the people. I\u2019ve loved every single person who works here because they\u2019ve done so much for me, especially my boss.\u201d And no, he wasn\u2019t talking about Lorne Michaels, but Cher!<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMa\u2019am, I just wanted to say it\u2019s been an honor working for you, and any success I have after this will be thanks to this place. Before I go, do you have any feedback for me?\u201d Yang said to Cher. \u201cWell, everyone thought you were a little bit too gay. But you know what? You\u2019re perfect for me,\u201d she joked. <\/p>\n

\n\tSaturday marked the comedia<\/a>n\u2019s final episode as a cast member on the sketch comedy series. It was revealed Friday that he was exiting the show midseason, notably on the episode hosted by his Wicked<\/em> co-star Ariana Grande. <\/p>\n

\n\tAhead of Saturday\u2019s episode, Yang addressed his departure on Instagram Saturday, where he said he is \u201cgrateful for every minute of my time there.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201ci learned about myself (bad with wigs). i learned about others (generous, vulnerable, hot). i learned that human error can be nothing but correct. i learned that comedy is mostly logistics and that it will usually fail until it doesn\u2019t, which is the besssst,\u201d he wrote, also thanking Lorne Michaels and Grande \u201cfor sending me off in the dreamiest way i could imagine.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tYang\u2019s SNL<\/em> tenure began in 2018, when he joined as a writer. The following year, he joined as a featured player, and was promoted to a full-time cast member in season 47. He joins a limited group of SNL<\/em> alumni who left the series midseason, including Cecily Strong, Molly Shannon, Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey and Janeane Garofalo, along with Norm MacDonald (who was fired at the time). <\/p>\n

\n\tHe earned five Emmy nominations during his tenure with the sketch comedy series, all the while his career outside of SNL<\/em> began to skyrocket. Yang co-hosts the beloved Las Culturistas<\/em>\u00a0podcast with Matt Rogers, with the show itself expanding into the Las Culturistas Culture\u00a0Awards. A spoof on typical awards shows, Yang and Rogers pop culture-centered awards ceremony aired on Bravo this year, where it will return in 2026. <\/p>\n

\n\tYang recently starred in Wicked<\/em> and its followup Wicked: For Good<\/em>, and will next app<\/a>ear in Tangles: A Story About Alzheimer\u2019s, My Mother and Me<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Cat in the Hat<\/em>.<\/p>\n
