\n\tBilly Porter is sharing an update on his health after being hospitalized with a \u201cserious case of sepsis.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Tony and Emmy winner took to his Instagram on Monday to tell his fans that while it\u2019s been a \u201cvery challenging four months,\u201d he\u2019s \u201con the road to a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m here, first and foremost, to say happ<\/a>y holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah, and everything in between,\u201d he began the video. \u201cSome of you may or may not know that I was in the hospital very ill this fall with urosepsis. It was not easy. It\u2019s been a very, very challenging four months. And I want everybody to know that I am on the road to a full recovery. I\u2019m not there yet, but I\u2019m on the road to that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd I wanted to thank everybody for your prayers and your love and sending me all the vibes. I felt every single one of them,\u201d Porter continued, trying to hold back tears. \u201cAnd I know that I\u2019m alive today because of my fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn September, Cabaret<\/em>\u00a0cut its\u00a0Broadway\u00a0run short after the Pose <\/em>star withdrew from the production as he recovered from a \u201cserious case of sepsis,\u201d according to the production at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tUrosepsis is a serious type of sepsis, which is a condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection, according to the Mayo Clinic<\/a>. Urosepsis, specifically, is a severe complication of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) where the infection spreads to the bloodstream.<\/p>\n

\n\tPorter, who is set to star next in Hunger Game<\/a>s: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/em>, also captioned Monday\u2019s post, \u201cShe\u2019s ALIVE!!! Proof of life, PTL!!!
