2026 is looking to be the year of Sgt. Frog<\/em> (Keroro Gunso<\/em>). In addition to an anime<\/a> movie and a musical, a newly announced TV anime series<\/a> is set to premiere in the Fall 2026 anime season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unlike the movie, this new TV anime will feature a fresh cast. More details will arrive later, but a teaser visual was released with the announcement:<\/span><\/p>\n

The first\u00a0Sgt. Frog\u00a0<\/em>anime series premiered in 2004 and ran for 358 episodes across multiple seasons until 2011. A 24-episode series titled Keroro<\/em> later aired in 2014. The anime is inspired by the KADOKAWA-published manga by\u00a0Mine Yoshizaki<\/strong>, which began serialization in Shonen Ace in 1999 (there was a 1998 one-shot) and will get its 35th volume on December 26, 2025 in Japan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Sgt. Keroro blew his cover and lost his top-secret weapon, the frog-like alien has been cut off from the homeworld. To make matters worse, he\u2019s lost communications with the rest of his platoon. Now he has taken cover in the Hinata family household, where in exchange for doing his share of the chores, he gets his own room from which to secretly devise new plans of world domination!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The new Sgt. Frog anime movie, Shingekijoban\u2606Keroro Gunso Fukatsushite Sokko Chikyu Metsubo no Kiki de arimasu!<\/em>, will premiere in summer 2026. Meanwhile, the Pekopon Shinryaku Musical \u201cKeroro Gunso\u201d musical will open in September 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
