A new OVA for the Fairy Princess Minky Momo<\/em> series<\/a> has been announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Separately, animation studio Ashi Productions<\/strong> released a visual of the titular Minky Momo has part of its 50th anniversary plans. Hiroshi Watanabe<\/strong>, who worked as key animator and animation director on the first TV series and later became involved in character designing, storyboarding, and episode direction (the caption describes him as a main animator), drew the illustration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The original Fairy Princess Minky Momo<\/em> (<\/span>Maho no Princess Minky Momo<\/em>) TV anime<\/a> premiered in <\/span>1982 and ran for 63 episodes. <\/span>Kunihiko Yuyama<\/strong> (The Strongest King Encyclopedia ~The Ultimate Tournament~<\/em> and To Be a Pok\u00e9mon Master: Ultimate Journeys: The Series<\/em>, Pok\u00e9mon: The First Movie<\/em> director) served as chief director with s<\/span>eries composition from Takeshi Shudo<\/strong> (Pok\u00e9mon: Mewtwo Strikes Back \u2013 Evolution<\/em> and Pok\u00e9mon: The First Movie<\/em> script<\/a>writer).\u00a0<\/span>Crunchyroll describes the synopsis as such:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As humans lose sight of their dreams, Fenarinarsa, the land of dreams in the sky, is in danger of drifting away from Earth. A new TV series titled Maho no Princess Minky Momo Yume o Dakishimete<\/em> started airing in 1991. There were also OVA like 1985\u2019s Maho no Princess Minky Momo Yume no Naka no Rinbu<\/em>, 1993\u2019s Minky Momo in Yume ni Kakeru Hashi<\/em>, and 1994\u2019s Minky Momo in Tabidachi no Eki<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

A Minky Momo <\/em>revival<\/a> was announced in 2009. Shudo passed away in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n
