Illustrator and animator Mai Yoneyama<\/strong><\/a> has shared a 55-second-long animation for her recent solo exhibition,\u00a0YONEYAMA MAI EXHIBITION \u201carc,\u201d which ran from December 6 to December 28 at Ginza Tsutaya Bookstore.<\/span><\/p>\n

The animation begins with slightly sketchy but still elegant line art and later adapts color and shading. There is some impressive morphing animation on display as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

The drawings that make up this animation, as well as others that were also featured at the exhibition, can be found in a 264-page flipbook<\/a> that\u2019s being sold.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yoneyama made her key animation debut on 2010\u2019s Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt<\/em>. Some of her credits include the viral \u201cCOLORs\u201d music video<\/a> (character designer and animation director), FLCL Progressive\u00a0<\/em>(sub-character designer), the \u201cYoku\u201d music video (director, storyboarder, character designer, and main animator), Cyberpunk: Edgerunners\u00a0<\/em>(ending animation director, storyboard artist, color planner, key animator, compositor), and Lazarus<\/em> (ending animation director and key animator). She also contributed layouts for the transformation<\/a> sequences<\/a> in New Panty& Stocking with Garterbelt<\/em>\u2018s \u201cThe Brothers from Heaven\u201d skit.<\/span><\/p>\n

YONEYAMA MAI EXHIBITION \u201carc\u201d was Yoneyama\u2019s first solo exhibition in around two years,<\/span><\/p>\n
