\n\tA court order sought by the Los Angeles Police Department has blocked the release of any medical records connected to the deaths of Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner and\u00a0his wife, Michele Reiner.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office said it received the court order at 10:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve \u201cto place a security hold\u201d on any medical reports as the LAPD continues its homicide investigation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhile the cause and manner of death were previously released on these cases, due to the court order, the information is no longer available. No other case information or records, including the Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice,\u201d the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office shared<\/a> in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Department understands the public\u2019s interest in these cases and remains committed to transparency when possible,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cInformation will be made available once the court order is lifted.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Medical Examiner previously shared that Rob and\u00a0Michele died from \u201cmultiple sharp force injuries,\u201d and that the manner of the couple\u2019s death was ruled a double homicide. Their bodies were discovered inside their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14.<\/p>\n

\n\tA few days after the Hollywood couple died, their son, Nick Reiner, 32, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the death of his parents. During his first court app<\/a>earance earlier this month, he did not enter a plea, and\u00a0his former arraignment was delayed\u00a0until Jan. 7 after a request from\u00a0his attorney, Alan Jackson.<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir other two children, Jake and Romy Reiner, later addressed the family tragedy, writing in a statement to People<\/em>, \u201cWords cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day. The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren\u2019t just our parents; they were our best friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,\u201d the brother and sister added. \u201cWe now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
