ex-boyfriend while working on a Caribbean Island, according to authorities and reports.<\/p>\n<p>Karen Johannsen, 66, was violently struck in the back of the head with an unknown object by a man while on a horseback riding tour on Runaway Beach in Antigua on the morning of Dec. 19,<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/61574667671207\/posts\/office-of-strategic-communicationsmedia-release\/122151923192822255\/\"> according to the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.<\/a><\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Karen Johannsen, 66, was allegedly killed by her former boyfriend while on a horseback tour in Antigua. <span class=\"credit\"><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a>\/Karen Jo<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The unidentified man who allegedly launched the assault was a former boyfriend of Johannsen, Lyn, Johannsen\u2019s sister,<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wmtv15news.com\/2025\/12\/30\/fitchburg-resident-johannsens-greenhouse-family-member-killed-antigua-attack\/\"> told WMTV. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Johannsen, who hails from Madison, Wisconsin, was then transported to the hospital and treated for serious head injuries before being airlifted to the United States for further care, cops said.<\/p>\n<p>The assault left her with a massive head injury, several broken bones, and a fractured jaw, according to <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"
