\n Make that two MVP\u2019s for Giannis Antetokounmpo by the age of 25.<\/p>\n

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver announced Friday afternoon that the Milwaukee Bucks star had won the league MVP award, voted from a global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters as well as a fan vote, for the second straight year.<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo received 85 of 1010 first-place votes and earned 962 total points. LeBron James received the other 16-place votes and finished in second place with 753 points. Rockets guard James Harden was third (367 points) followed by Mavericks guard Luka Doncic (200 points) and Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (168 points).<\/p>\n

Joining James, Stephen Curry, Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Moses Malone, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell as the only players to win back-to-back MVP\u2019s, Antetokounmpo is in good company. He also joined Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players to win the MVP and Defensive Players of the Year in the same season.<\/p>\n

\u201cObviously, I\u2019m happ<\/a>y for tonight and I\u2019m happy for this award, but I always look forward,\u201d Antetokounmpo told reporters during Friday\u2019s virtual news<\/a> conference. \u201cI always try to figure out, how can I get better? How can I do it again? How can I do it for multiple years to come? How can I be a champion? I\u2019m happy. I\u2019m grateful, but how can I do it again?\u201d<\/p>\n

Antetokounmpo will have to decide whether to sign an extension with Milwaukee or enter the 2020-21 season in the final year of his contract before becoming eligible for free agency in 2021.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs long as everybody\u2019s fighting for the same thing \u2026 which is to be a champion, I don\u2019t see why not to be in Milwaukee for the next 15 years,\u201d Antetokounmpo told NBA TV after accepting the trophy.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
