\n\tFacing an eviction notice from his Los Angeles rental home, Mickey Rourke, 73, is turning to GoFundMe to pay $59,100 in owed rent.<\/p>\n

\n\tLaunched early Sunday morning and with his \u201cfull permission,\u201d the crowdfunding drive, \u201cSupport Mickey to Prevent Eviction,\u201d<\/a> urges fans to \u201chelp Mickey Rourke stay in his home.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMickey Rourke is currently facing a very difficult and urgent situation: he is at risk of being evicted from his home,\u201d the GoFundMe descript<\/a>ion reads. \u201cLife doesn\u2019t always move in a straight line, and despite everything Mickey has given through his work and his life, he is now dealing with a challenging financial moment that has put his housing at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fundraiser will pay for \u201cimmedia<\/a>te housing-related expenses and prevent eviction.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe goal is to give Mickey some stability and peace of mind during a stressful time so he can stay in his home and have the space to get back on his feet,\u201d the fundraiser explains. \u201cAny donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tThe GoFundMe is run by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke\u2019s management team. \u201cMickey is going through a very difficult time right now, and it\u2019s been incredibly touching to see how many people care about him and want to help,\u201d Jones tells The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tRourke received the three-day eviction notice on Dec. 18, the Los Angeles Times<\/em> reported. He signed the lease in March 2025 for $5,200 per month. It was later raised to $7,000 per month. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is a \u201cnicely upgraded Spanish bungalow\u201d built in 1926, according to a Zillow description. Author Raymond Chandler is said to have lived there for two years in the 1940s.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tRourke launched to superstardom in the 1980s as one of Hollywood\u2019s most magnetic young movie actors, breaking through in a string of landmark films like Diner<\/em>, The Pope of Greenwich Village<\/em>, 9 1\/2 Weeks<\/em> and Angel Heart<\/em>. With a rough-edged charisma, he seemed poised for enduring stardom, then repeatedly held it at arm\u2019s length.<\/p>\n

\n\tDisillusioned with studio filmmaking, Rourke walked out on projects and publicly criticized the industry. By the early 1990s, he had mostly abandoned acting to pursue professional boxing, a decision that left him with serious facial injuries that later required extensive reconstructive surgery.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis film career drifted into low-budget and straight-to-video fare. But Rourke never fully disappeared. Directors, including Robert Rodriguez (2005\u2019s Sin City<\/em>) and Tony Scott (2005\u2019s Domino<\/em>), offered him juicy supporting roles, reintroducing him to mainstream audiences.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis comeback peaked in 2008 with Darren Aronofsky\u2019s The Wrestler<\/em>, in which Rourke played a washed-up professional wrestler clinging to dignity. The performance earned him a Golden Globe and an Academy Award nomination, reframing his turbulent life as a kind of method biography.<\/p>\n

\n\tSince then, Rourke has worked steadily, often in genre films with ensemble casts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
