Starknet, an Ethereum ZK\u2011rollup network used for decentralized finance and gaming, is facing mainnet downtime following previous outages in 2025.<\/p>\n

Starknet, an Ethereum layer\u20112 network that uses zero\u2011knowledge (ZK) rollups, is experiencing fresh mainnet disruption as the project enters 2026.<\/p>\n

In an X post<\/a>, the Starknet team said the network was facing downtime and that engineers were \u201cactively investigating the issue and working to restore full functionality as quickly as possible,\u201d without immedia<\/a>tely disclosing a root cause. At the time of writing, the network had been experiencing downtime for just over two hours.<\/p>\n

\u200bStarknet is a ZK\u2011rollup\u2013based layer 2 that batches transactions<\/a> offchain and posts cryptographic proofs to Ethereum, aiming to deliver higher throughput and lower fees for smart contracts, decentralized finance and gaming app<\/a>lications while inheriting Ethereum\u2019s base\u2011layer security.\u00a0<\/p>\n
