faster than ever, with updates arriving at a pace unmatched in the industry\u2019s 20-year history. AI Overviews have kind of taken over as well.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Reva Minkoff, founder and president of Digital4Startups, called 2025 \u201cthe year of the max,\u201d pointing to Performance Max, AI Max, and the growing list of \u201cmax\u201d campaign types. She said more features launched this year than at any other time in her 20-year search career.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s just every day there\u2019s a new thing, which is really exciting. But there\u2019s definitely a lot h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening now.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"whats-working-in-ppc\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Whats_working_in_PPC\"><\/span>What\u2019s working in PPC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-back-to-basics-structure-and-signals\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Back_to_basics_Structure_and_signals\"><\/span>Back to basics: Structure and signals<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>All panelists stressed that success in 2025 came from returning to the fundamentals.<\/p>\n<p>Minkoff stressed the importance of proper campaign structure and quality signals: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cIt\u2019s still important to have a good search campaign with keywords that you control and ads you create that goes to an audience that you think it should be going to.\u201d <\/li>\n<li>Minkoff noted that Performance Max is working well, but only when the signals are right \u2014 \u201cif you\u2019re not putting good stuff in, you won\u2019t get good stuff out.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She also pointed to strong results from Demand Gen (formerly Video Action campaigns), user-generated content, and influencer marketing:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cI think people want to hear from real people.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Khabra stressed the importance of using scripts and automation oversight to catch issues before they turn into problems.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWe\u2019ll have scripts in place that are like anomaly detectors, just so we know that tracking is off. The broken URL script is a lifesaver, honestly \u2014 how many times have we had a developer push a change and we didn\u2019t even know it happened?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-human-touch-in-creative\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_human_touch_in_creative\"><\/span>The human touch in creative<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ridley underscored the need for authentic creative in an AI-driven landscape:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cGoing back with our authentic user-generated content is getting really good results compared to this slick, polished stuff, especially with AI coming out now and people questioning whether it\u2019s real or not. Having that human touch is really working for us.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-client-communication\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Client_communication\"><\/span>Client communication<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Beyond tactics, Ridley emphasized better client communication: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cMaking sure that we understand what their business objectives are rather than just their ROAS and CPAs\u201d has been essential for success.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 id=\"what-not-working-in-ppc\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_not_working_in_PPC\"><\/span>What not working in PPC<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-automatically-created-assets-acas\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Automatically_created_assets_ACAs\"><\/span>Automatically created assets (ACAs)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The panel unanimously agreed that Automatically Created Assets are problematic, primarily from a brand safety perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Khabra was particularly critical: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWe can\u2019t put in guidelines. We\u2019re not allowed to approve things beforehand. So we really have to sit there and kind of just figure out what the system has created for us.\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She referenced a <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/adwordsgirl_im-not-sure-if-youve-heard-about-one-of-activity-7399092001088061440-ddrJ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">quote from Amy Hebdon<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cAI is a pattern matcher, not a creator. It\u2019s going to generate the most probable thing, not something that\u2019s actually new or exciting, or even correct.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minkoff echoed these concerns: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cA lot of clients need to be able to control their brand story and what they\u2019re talking about, and the words that they use. I just don\u2019t trust the automatically generated anything to reflect those guidelines.\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Minkoff noted that automatically generated content often misses business nuances, such as which products deserve budget and which items shouldn\u2019t be advertised at all.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-user-interface-and-ux-issues\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"User_interface_and_UX_issues\"><\/span>User interface and UX issues<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ridley voiced frustration with ongoing platform user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) changes.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cHaving to click campaign, campaign, campaign makes no sense. It was kind of coming out and then it was out and it\u2019s there a good chunk of the time. Although I\u2019m really happy about the channel reporting, there was a little piece of you that was like, were we supposed to \u2014 should this have actually happened?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>She worried that everyone is now trying to manipulate the system in ways that defeat its purpose:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWe\u2019re supposed to put in clean data, we\u2019re supposed to put in good signals, and it\u2019s supposed to do its job.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-potential-solutions\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Potential_solutions\"><\/span>Potential solutions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Ridley raised an intriguing idea: What if Google offered media mix controls that let advertisers suggest percentage splits \u2014 like 20% search and 30% display \u2014 as guidance rather than hard limits?<\/p>\n<p>Minkoff suggested bid adjustments as a middle ground: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cBid up, bid down. I want more of this, I want less of this. I\u2019m not even necessarily asking for me to figure it out because if I was right, I would just run them in the other campaign. And I feel like this is the first time I can say that\u2014the first time where I felt like things were changing that quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She emphasized that the biggest thing we\u2019ll discuss in a year probably hasn\u2019t even been released yet: <\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWe have to make sure that we have budget, we have flexibility to factor that into our planning. The advertisers who performed best embraced automation without giving up strategic control, prioritized quality signals over volume, and stayed agile enough to adapt to changes that seemed to come weekly, rather than quarterly.<\/p>\n<p>As 2026 approaches, platforms are evolving faster than ever, and the biggest changes likely haven\u2019t even been announced yet.
