The opening was storyboarded and unit directed by <em>Skip and Loafer<\/em> director <strong>Kotomi Deai<\/strong>, who is also credited for special processing. The anime<em>\u00a0<\/em>is based on the Shodensha-published manga\u00a0<em>Ikoku Nikki: Journal with Witch<\/em>\u00a0by\u00a0<strong>Tomoko Yamashita<\/strong>, which sees a shy novelist taking in her 15-year old orphaned niece.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The manga debuted in the joseimuke magazine Feel Young in 2017 and released its 11th and final volume in 2023.
