The Snowball Earth<\/em> TV anime<\/a> will begin airing on April 3. It will premiere in Nippon TV\u2019s FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT block at 11:30 PM JST, after That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime<\/em>\u00a0Season 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Snowball Earth\u00a0<\/em>adapts the Shogakukan-published manga by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu<\/strong>, which Viz Media<\/a> describes as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

Yukio was destroyed in battle and Tetsuo survived in an escape pod. After eight years in cold sleep, the escape pod finally lands back on Earth. But when Tetsuo emerges he finds a world in ruins, entirely frozen beneath a blanket of ice and snow\u2014snowball Earth! What happ<\/a>ened to humanity, how did the planet freeze over, and will Tetsuo be able to keep his last promise to Yukio?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The manga started serialization in Shogakukan\u2019s seinen magazine Monthly Big Comic Spirits in 2021 and has 10 volumes as of December 2025. It was the recipient of the Spirits Award in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
