\n\tPiers Morgan has been hospitalized for a broken hip after he \u201ctrip<\/a>ped on a small step,\u201d the U.K. host shared on social media<\/a> over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlongside a selfie from a hospital bed, Morgan detailed his injury, saying that it happ<\/a>ened in a London restaurant, where he \u201cfell like a sack of spuds\u201d and \u201cfractured [the] neck of [his] femur \u2026 so badly [he] needed a new hip.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe added that as part of his recovery, he will be on crutches for six weeks and can\u2019t take any \u201clong-haul\u201d flights for 12 weeks. He jokingly added, \u201cI blame Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a subsequent posts, Morgan indicated that his sense of humor was still intact as he shared an image of himself holding a newspaper reporting on his injury<\/a> and a clip from Good Morning Britain<\/em><\/a>, where the hosts speculated that he might\u2019ve been drinking wine when he fell. \u201cTo clarify, ZERO alcohol was involved in the incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMorgan currently hosts his eponymous YouTube<\/a> talk show, Piers Morgan Uncensored<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tMorgan\u2019s relationship with Trump has run hot and cold. They were initially friends as Morgan won the Trump-hosted Celebrity Apprentice<\/em> in 2008. But his opinion of the president shifted near the end of Trump\u2019s first term as Morgan was disappointed in how he responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and attacked him in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Trump also sat for a contentious interview with Morgan in 2022 before the pair reportedly buried the hatchet amid Trump\u2019s 2024 election win.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast month, though, when Trump criticized Rob Reiner after the acclaimed director and his wife were killed in their home, Morgan said the comments crossed \u201cevery line of basic human decency.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis weekend, prior to announcing his fall, Morgan poked fun at Trump\u2019s threat to impose tariffs on European countries<\/a> that opposed his effort to secure U.S. control of Greenland.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBritain should repurchase America,\u201d Morgan wrote on X<\/a>. \u201cAfter all, it was ours once, and it would enhance our North Atlantic security. If you don\u2019t sell it to us, President Trump, we\u2019re going to impose tariffs on the U.S. and any country who supports you in resisting this very good deal. Fair?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
