The Miss Kobayashi\u2019s Dragon Maid: A Lonely Dragon Wants to be Loved<\/em> anime<\/a> movie has dropped on Netflix.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The theatrical sequel to the Miss Kobayashi\u2019s Dragon Maid\u00a0<\/em>TV anime began screening in Japanese cinemas in june 2025 and was released on Blu-ray and DVD<\/a> in Japan on January 21 this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Crunchyroll previously announced that it had secured the global theatrical rights (except Asia) for the film and brought it to US screens on October 20, 2025 as part of the Crunchyroll Anime Nights program.<\/span><\/p>\n

The movie\u2019s synopsis, via Crunchyroll, reads:<\/span><\/p>\n

Miss Kobayashi, Tohru, Kanna, and Iruru\u2019s peaceful lives are shattered when Kanna\u2019s father, Kamun Kamui, leader of the Chaos Forces, arrives and forces her to return to the Dragon World to fix a past mistake. With a war brewing between Chaos and Harmony, Kanna must find a way to unite the two worlds but is torn between her loyalty to her friends and her father\u2019s demands. Miss Kobayashi, however, refuses to let her go and tries to mend Kanna and Kamui\u2019s broken bond. As dragons clash, Iruru uncovers a hidden force manipulating the war. Can they stop the war before it consumes both worlds?<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The first season of the Miss Kobayashi\u2019s Dragon Maid\u00a0<\/em>TV anime debuted in 2017, and was later followed by a 2021 TV sequel with the title Miss Kobayashi\u2019s Dragon Maid S\u00a0<\/em>and a short form ONA titled\u00a0MiniDora\u00a0<\/em>(Mini Dragon<\/em>). It is based on the Futabasha-published seinen manga series<\/a> by Coolkyousinnjya<\/strong>, which started serialization in the now-defunct Monthly Action in 2013 (it currently runs in the biweekly MANGA Action) and has 18 volumes as of November 2025. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga as such:<\/span><\/p>\n

Miss Kobayashi is your average office worker who lives a boring life, alone in her small apartment\u2013until she saves the life of a female dragon in distress. The dragon, named Tohru, has the ability to magically transform into an adorable human girl (albeit with horns and a long tail!), who will do anything to pay off her debt of gratitude, whether Miss Kobayashi likes it or not. With a very persistent and amorous dragon as a roommate, nothing comes easy, and Miss Kobayashi\u2019s normal life is about to go off the deep end!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
