\n\tIn May, Styles was spotted by fans in Saint Peter\u2019s Square in the Vatican in photos circulating online. The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> later confirmed he was in attendance. Now, seven months later, the Grammy winner has addressed the moment, recently telling BBC Radio 1<\/a> and when the topic came up, he mentioned how he ended up witnessing the historic event \u2014 and revealed it wasn\u2019t intentional.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was getting a haircut in Rome,\u201d Styles said. \u201cI heard all these people start shouting, \u2018Habemus papam! Habemus papam!\u2019 People are just running down the street. So the guy cutting my hair stopped cutting my hair, and he was like, \u2018Habemus papam! There\u2019s a new pope!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe <\/em>\u201cWatermelon Sugar\u201d singer continued, \u201cSo then he finished up, and I was like, \u2018I\u2019m a five-minute walk from there,\u2019 so I walked over there. It was wild.\u201d<\/p>\n
