\/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Federal agents were forced to retreat after a violent, anti-ICE protester allegedly brandished a fake gun during unruly protests in Los Angeles \u2014 the latest in a slew of violent disruptors against law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Escalante Hernandez was a part of a wild mob outside Roybal Federal Building early Saturday morning, throwing glass and plastic bottles at Federal Protective Service agents, according to a charging document obtained by The California Post.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hernandez is accused of throwing glass bottles at federal agents, leading to a foot pursuit.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Federal agents attempted to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rehend Hernandez and a foot pursuit started. During the pursuit, Hernandez \u201cbrandished what appeared to be a firearm,\u201d forcing officers to abandon the pursuit, according to the document. <\/p>\n<p>However, a short time later, Hernandez returned to the scene of the protest where he was arrested and federal officers recovered a replica firearm, the document said. Hernandez has since been charged with assaulting a federal officer.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Hernandez allegedly brandished what appeared to be a handgun.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Officers allegedly recovered the fake handgun after Hernandez was taken into custody.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>US Attorney Bill Essayli, whose office has ramped up the prosecution of law enforcement agitators, told The Post Hernandez\u2019s arrest is just another example of the dangers facing law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are not peaceful protestors, they are criminal actors. It\u2019s unfortunate that increased law enforcement presence and safety barriers around our buildings are necessary to protect our attorneys, officers, and staff. We will not hesitate to deploy all necessary resources to keep our people and buildings secured,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Hernandez joins a list of more than 100 unruly Californians who have been arrested for shoving, doxxing and even throwing Molotov cocktails at federal agents since Homeland Security swarmed California last spring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEveryone has First Amendment rights, but there is a line. If you touch an agent, impeded them, or assist a fugitive, those are crimes,\u201d Essayli told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the most violent incidents of protesters attacking law enforcement are highlighted here:<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Ashleigh_Brown\"><\/span><strong>Ashleigh Brown<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Ashleigh Brown, 38, faced charges of conspiracy after she and two friends allegedly livestreamed themselves following an ICE agent to their Los Angeles home and shared directions to the house with their viewers.<\/p>\n<p>At the house, Brown and her friend shouted \u201cneighbor is ICE,\u201d \u201cla migra lives here,\u201d and \u201cICE lives on your street and you should know,\u201d federal prosecutors say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Brown, who hails from Colorado, was arrested along with SoCal natives Cynthia Raygoza and Sandra Carmona Samane.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Cynthia Raygoza, 37, of Riverside, is one of three women charged in a two-count indictment with following a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent home and livestreaming his home address on Instagram.  <span class=\"credit\">US Attorney L.A.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The three allegedly posted the agent\u2019s address to Instagram and told followers to \u201ccome on down.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Adam_Palermo\"><\/span>Adam Palermo<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Adam Palermo, 39, was arrested for allegedly chucking rocks at California Highway Patrol cars as protesters took over Highway 101 in Los Angeles in June.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities say one of the rocks caused a cop car to burst into flames, and \u201cCHP SRT officers had to put themselves in danger from thrown rocks and bottles,\u201d according to the Highway Patrol.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Adam Charles Palermo allegedly threw rocks onto CHP cars on 101 freeway and set fire to one of them. <span class=\"credit\">California Highway Patrol<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Palermo faced federal charges of attempted arson of a vehicle used in interstate or foreign commerce, plus state charges of arson, vandalism, and assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gustavo_Torres_and_Kiara_Jaime-Flores\"><\/span><strong>Gustavo Torres<\/strong> and <strong>Kiara Jaime-Flores<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Gustavo Torres, 28, and Kiara Jaime-Flores, 34, faced charges of conspiracy to impede or injure an officer after they allegedly used their cars to block the path of ICE agents fleeing a crowd of protestors trying to thwart their raids.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Gustavo Torres, 28, and Kiara Jaime-Flores, 34, face charges of conspiracy to impede or injure an officer after they allegedly used their cars to block the path of ICE agents fleeing a crowd of protestors trying to thwart their raids. <span class=\"credit\">U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe defendants allegedly pulled in front of one of the vehicles and slammed on the brakes, which the agents believed was an attempt to cause a collision,\u201d according to a Justice Department statement.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Jose_Francisco_Jovel\"><\/span><strong>Jos\u00e9 Francisco Jovel<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Jos\u00e9 Francisco Jovel, 54, recently pleaded not guilty to tossing Molotov cocktails through the doors of the Los Angeles federal building. He was arrested and charged with attempted malicious damage of federal property.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Jose Francisco Jovel allegedly threw two Molotov cocktails inside a federal building in Downtown LA while people were waiting in line to clear security. <span class=\"credit\">USAO Central District of California<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Jose Francisco Jovel\u2019s alleged Molotov cocktails. <span class=\"credit\">USAO Central District of California<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Elpidio_Reyna\"><\/span><strong>Elpidio Reyna<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Elpidio Reyna, 39, faced four counts of assault on a federal officer for allegedly hurling rocks at cops and police vehicles during the June protests in Paramount, injuring one officer and damaging several vehicles, prosecutors say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reyna was briefly on the FBI\u2019s \u201cMost Wanted\u201d list before being arrested by police in Mexico south of the border.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Elpidio Reyna allegedly threw rocks at passing law enforcement cars in Paramount.  <span class=\"credit\">F.A. US Attorney Bill Essayli<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Emiliano_Garduno_Galvez\"><\/span><strong>Emiliano Garduno Galvez<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Emiliano Garduno Galvez, 23, pleaded guilty to tossing a Molotov cocktail at Los Angeles County Sheriff\u2019s deputies during a June protest in Paramount.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A crowd of protestors had gathered at a Home Depot where ICE agents were preparing for a raid.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Emiliano Garduno-Galvez, an illegal alien from Mexico is suspected of attempted murder after he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement during the Los Angeles riots. <span class=\"credit\">Department of Homeland Security<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Galvez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, lit the Molotov cocktail and threw it over a wall at the agents, but it landed closer to the protestors, nearly setting one of them on fire, prosecutors said.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dennis_Orlando_Quinonez\"><\/span><strong>Dennis Orlando Qui\u00f1onez<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Dennis Orlando Qui\u00f1onez, 33, allegedly pulled up to DHS vehicles in November and threw rocks at their cars.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Agents allegedly found an illegal firearm in his SUV \u2014 along with his 2-year-old daughter in the back.<\/p>\n<p>Agents confiscated his car, gun, and daughter,  <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/los-angeles-home-depot-immigration-child-car\/\">according to CBS<\/a>, and Qui\u00f1onez was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person previously convicted of domestic violence.<\/p>\n<p>He was later released on bond and reunited with his toddler.<\/p>\n<p>Essayli says his aggressive prosecution of people who disrupt these operations in California is why the state hasn\u2019t seen the same level of chaos that Minnesota has faced during recent ICE enforcement efforts.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe riots ended when we started putting people in jail,\u201d Essayli told The Post.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Bill Essayli, first assistant US attorney for the central district of California. <span class=\"credit\">Bloomberg via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe initial hurdle was to change culture of the Department of Justice in this office. Traditionally, it was not a reactive\u00a0office, cases are typically investigated\u00a0over months or years.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had to adapt to be more like a district attorney\u2019s office and do reactive cases, switching our culture and our procedures. We didn\u2019t\u00a0have a lot of issues with the court, they were reviewing warrants and signing them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>There are still some significant hurdles Essayli and his office still face. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOrganized disinformation by local <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, the LA Times, all the fake media here in California would print false and outrageous accounts of what happened with immigration enforcement.
