\n A Manhattan man suspected of stabbing his girlfriend to death called authorities and vowed to end his life \u2014 but not before \u201ckilling and shooting some cops,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

Joshua Martinez is a suspect in the slaying this week of his girlfriend, Carol Nystrom, who police said was fatally stabbed some time between Sunday and Thursday inside her apartment at 420 West 206th St. in Inwood, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Cops discovered her body Thursday following a wellness check.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, a caller police believe was Martinez, 33, rang the NYPD\u2019s Crime Stoppers hotline and threatened to shoot officers so he could die by cop, a department spokesman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe called in and said he is planning on killing himself by shooting and killing some cops,\u201d the spokesman said.<\/p>\n

Nystrom\u2019s Facebook page<\/a> features a backdrop of butterflies, the beach and flowers. She listed her hobbies as \u201cadvocating equality and justice for all, photographing graffiti and urban life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martinez is 5\u20196\u2033 and weighs 165 pounds and was last seen wearing a gray Yankees jersey. He is known to frequent areas in and around Washington Heights and Inwood, cops said.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
