neon at OnTheRadar,<\/a> it felt like the curated freestyle platform had hit its peak (and like we\u2019d be hearing \u201ccombination\u201d in a Toronto accent for the rest of our lives). In the two and a half years since, OTR has become a rite-of-passage for any and all artists trying to spike their visibility during a rollout. The performances are still good, but the spark hasn\u2019t been quite the same.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            Thankfully, they came back in a big way with their ongoing cypher <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>, this week\u2019s being 22 minutes of freestylers bringing rap back to its roots. While the name \u201cNew Class\u201d usually implies a group of teens and 20-somethings who haven&#8217;t been around long, OnTheRadar breaks that mold, featuring r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ers well into their thirties. Hailing from Detroit, New Jersey, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Oakland, these artists have radically different styles but similarly high-level wordplay. \n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278064\" class=\"content_block paragraph embed triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"media_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"\">\n    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"On The Radar Raps New Class Cypher (VOL 1.)\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kVpWIpXZ4lE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278068\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>10. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lareezymusic\/?hl=en\">La Reezy<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: A New Orleans-born upstart who opened for Little Simz on tour in 2025.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cAll these rappers probably want the Kendrick moment \/ I\u2019ll let em all have it, I\u2019m the unicorn pony.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Considering his past co-signs from Tyler, the Creator and Kendrick Lamar, La Reezy doesn\u2019t feel the need to justify his presence here. His NOLA drawl (I\u2019m a sucker for the accent) and animated, Andr\u00e9 3000-esque delivery hit more than any standout bars (respectfully) but at least it made me want to check out more of his music.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278069\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>9. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ovrkast\/?hl=en\">Ovrkast<\/a>.<\/b><br \/>WHO: An Oakland multi-hyphenate who\u2019s already produced for Drake and<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"http:\/\/thefader.com\/artist\/earl-sweatshirt\"> Earl Sweatshirt.<\/a><br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cI produced this beat by the way.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Props to Ovrkast. for calling out how Satanic the government is, though the hardest mic drop has nothing to do with the contents of his verse, but the casual flex that he produced the beat everyone is rapping over. \n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278070\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>8. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/xchrispatrick\/\">Chris Patrick<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: An underground rapper from New Jersey with effortless candor and vulnerable bars.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cHow you performative with these hoes and can\u2019t f*cking perform? How you hustle to dickride clout but don\u2019t hustle for more?\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Chris Patrick couldn\u2019t turn in a bad verse on his worst day. But dropping a freestyle so soon after the damage he did <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TENtkciKvuY&amp;list=RDTENtkciKvuY&amp;start_radio=1\">on stream with Kai Cenat<\/a> is a double-edged sword because the bar is now 20 feet up and hard to beat. This was a casual showing for Patrick.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278071\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>7. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reubenvincent\/\">Reuben Vincent<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: The Charlotte-bred 9th Wonder prot\u00e9g\u00e9 who calls himself an idiosyncratic old soul.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cTeam spirit, Nirvana \/ You die and come to find out that ego and pride makes small fish become piranhas.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            If I close my eyes I could mistake 25-year-old Reuben Vincent for a seasoned 90s vet. I can tell rap comes easy to him by the way he weaves in storytelling about his upbringing in the Queen City of Charlotte, NC. He has one of the more aggressive verses of the bunch: \u201cI made a promise to God that I\u2019ma get away with murder.\u201d\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278072\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>6. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/swavay\/?hl=en\">SWAVAY<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: A rising Atlanta rapper, producer, and singer previously mentored by James Blake. <br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cI don\u2019t believe in manifestation, signs of having luck bc that\u2019s kinda like you fuck with God but just won\u2019t dap him up.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Swavay is the only one in the cypher to make his whole portion a conversation with God. In a cypher it\u2019s expected to brag about how great of a rapper you are, so by taking the less-rapped-about route, he automatically stands out. Then he gets the biggest laugh of the cypher by dropping the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a>\u2019s endlessly memed <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/ks4Q6MGEIHQ\">&#8220;Red Rolls, White Ceiling&#8221;<\/a> bar. While everyone else looks to the next class, he\u2019s looking up at the man above.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278073\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>5. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/marloncraft\/\">Marlon Craft<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: A Hell\u2019s Kitchen lyricist who\u2019s earned cosigns from Method Man and Havoc.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cYou know how hard it was to capture all this passion in my soul and transmute it into something to be sold, now they want me to owe?\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Marlon Craft\u2019s performance serves as the perfect response to Ray Vaughn\u2019s critique of the &#8220;vultures&#8221; stealing from the sport. Even though Marlon actually precedes him in the cypher, his verse feels like he\u2019s catching a layup assist from Vaughn\u2019s bars later on. He sticks to a relatively classic flow\u2014one that might otherwise feel dated\u2014but he doesn&#8217;t need to be flashy to prove his point. Instead, he defends the soul in his craft: \u201cThis ain\u2019t A.I., I got this good from practicing.\u201d He stands tall as the rare white rapper who has put in 15 years without ditching the genre for country music.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278074\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>4. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/nasaan\/?hl=en\">Nasaan<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: The son of the late Detroit legend and D12 rapper Proof.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cFor any n***ga ready to swing, swing for my nuts \/ I\u2019ll drop a n***ga once, get up drop again deluxe.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            If anyone thought Nasaan was a nepo baby, this cypher should put those accusations to rest. Referencing hometown icon Royce Da 5\u20199\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xLzHVd9UIWQ&amp;list=RDxLzHVd9UIWQ&amp;start_radio=1\">\u201cHi Rihanna,\u201d<\/a> his verse pays homage and simultaneously calls out the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> platform Revolt TV. The singsong quality of his verse gives it replay value, bumping him above other verses here that stick closer to the traditional cypher format. \n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278075\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>3. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/itsmarcoplus\/?hl=en\">MARCO PLUS<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: An Atlanta rapper whose bouncy Southern voice reminds me of J.I.D. and Earthgang.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cI love my fans but I\u2019m only rapping for the money.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            Marco Plus is a veteran of life\u2019s worst-case scenarios, and his overly straightforward bars hit home. I was in awe by how nonchalantly his blade-sharp pen carves out stories of dead friends and drug addiction. His tongue-in-cheek admission that he\u2019s \u201conly rapping for money\u201d despite loving his fans absolutely fried me.\n          <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<style>\n<\/style>\n<div id=\"content_block-278076\" class=\"content_block paragraph text triple_gutter_right triple_gutter_left center_align\">\n<div class=\"content_inner_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"paragraph_wrapper center_align\">\n<p>\n            <b>2. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/savebenreilly\/\">Ben Reilly<\/a><\/b><br \/>WHO: A Brooklyn-born, Atlanta-raised rapper, singer, and songwriter, named after the Scarlet Spider from Marvel Comics.<br \/>BEST BAR: <i>\u201cMake the coupe Sydney Sweeney just to keep n****s abreast\/I&#8217;m double breasted, follow suit while the rest get addressed.\u201d<\/i>\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            I lost count of the flow switches and &#8220;best bar&#8221; contenders\u2014#2 was the lowest I could possibly rank him. Ben\u2019s delivery is fluid, then intentionally choppy, then back to fluid again. He cleverly flips Mystikal\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_new\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rlUvH7qL_jQ\">\u201cHelp the bear\u201d<\/a> line and stretches the imagination with his &#8220;son\/sun&#8221; wordplay. He raps exactly how his name is defined, like each line is swinging to the next. But he sticks the landing. What makes it work, and makes it clearly the best of the class\u2019s verses\u2014is that rather than  being preachy, Ray\u2019s obviously having so much fun with it.
