\n\tJessica Belkin is the latest cast member boarding the Baywatch<\/em> reboot.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe upcoming Elle<\/em> actress has joined the cast of the Fox and Freemantle show in the series<\/a> regular role of\u00a0Charlie Vale, the biological daughter of Baywatch captain Hobie Buchannon, son of Mitch Buchannon (who was portrayed by David Hasselhoff in the original series). <\/p>\n

\n\tThe official character descript<\/a>ion for Charlie reads, \u201cRaised\u00a0in Texas, Charlie is the biological daughter of Baywatch captain Hobie Buchannon \u2013 the child he never knew. She leaves her complicated home life in Galveston and shows up on her father\u2019s doorstep with one goal: earn her place as a Baywatch lifeguard. Fearless, passionate, and occasionally reckless, Charlie has all the makings of a Buchannon legend. She has a lot to learn, however, and the father she never met might be exactly the mentor she\u2019s always needed.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tBelkin will star in the forthcoming Legally Blonde<\/em> prequel series Elle<\/em>, and recently appeared in one episode of The Hunting Wives<\/em>\u2018 first season as a young Margo (Malin Akerman\u2019s leading role). She\u2019ll also next appear in Jake Szymanski\u2019s Cameron Diaz-led feature Bad Day<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\n\tStephen Amell was the first announced star of the Baywatch<\/em> reboot as Hobie Buchannon. David Chokachi will also reprise his role of Cody Madison after previously hailing from seasons six through nine of the original series. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe\u00a0Baywatch<\/em>\u00a0reboot will feature 12 episodes, debuting in the 2026-27 season from Fox\u00a0Entertainment and Fremantle, which holds the rights to the original show. Production is set to begin this spring on Los Angeles\u2019 famed Venice Beach, in addition to the historic FOX Studio Lot in Century City.<\/p>\n

\n\tMatt Nix (Burn Notice<\/em>,\u00a0The Gifted<\/em>) serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will also direct the series premiere episode.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter<\/em> recently went behind the series\u2019 open casting call in Marina del Rey, where more than 2,000 hopefuls showed up for a shot to potentially land a spot in the series, after over 14,000 applicants submitted headshots and resum\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

\n\tBelkin is represented by Paradigm, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Schuller Talent Mgmt and Stewart Brookman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
