\n\tA&E is out to prove Scott Peterson\u2018s innocence in the 2002 murder of his wife Laci Peterson and their unborn baby. Well, more accurately, A&E is the vessel for Left\/Right\u2019s newest documentary series<\/a>, Scott Peterson: The New Evidence<\/em>, which chronicles the Los Angeles Innocence Project\u2019s (not affiliated with the Innocence Project) push to overturn Scott\u2019s conviction.<\/p>\n

\n\tScott Peterson: The New Evidence<\/em> was announced on Wednesday at A+E\u2019s upfront presentation to advertisers. The four-hour special (across two nights) set for a summer premiere will uncover \u201cstartling revelations,\u201d A&E says.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA recent bombshell petition introduced new evidence that could undermine the prosecution\u2019s narrative of the murders of Laci and Conner Peterson more than twenty years after their tragic deaths,\u201d the synopsis reads. \u201cWhat happ<\/a>ened on Christmas Eve 2002 remains fiercely debated \u2014 and this new filing argues new evidence proves it was impossible for Scott Peterson to have committed the crimes against his wife and unborn son.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe thing is, we already know the L.A. Innocence Project\u2019s push mostly failed<\/a>. At this point, Peterson has only the longest Hail Mary\u2019s of hope for an appeal.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor the series, veteran defense attorney and ABC News<\/a> legal consultant, Chris Pixley, conducts his own examination focusing on the timeline of the crime, for which Peterson was convicted. The A&E special \u201cscrutinizes both sides of the case, uncovering startling revelations and revisiting the most vexing questions about what really happened to Laci and Conner,\u201d per its logline.<\/p>\n

\n\tScott Peterson: The New Evidence<\/em> is produced for A&E by Left\/Right with Banks Tarver, Ken Druckerman, Pete Ross and Maija Norris serving as executive producers; Pixley is a consulting producer. Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson executive producer for A&E.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, A&E on Wednesday announced a documentary feature exclusive interviews with John Gotti Jr. and his son John Gotti III. The Gotti Files<\/em> from Propagate Content and Lady Moon Entertainment will premiere in early 2027. No one is arguing that those dudes were innocent of much, though the younger Gotti is out of prison and says he\u2019s kept his nose clean since serving five years for racketeering.<\/p>\n

\n\tAnother new doc, Johnny Cash: The Man Comes Around<\/em>, is centered on the legendary country artist\u2019s \u201cprofound connection to the Island of Jamaica\u201d \u2014 who knew? I guess director Dana Adam Shapiro, for one.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, Jim Belushi is getting an A&E series about the K9 partners of police officers. They\u2019re probably adorable, but don\u2019t pet them on duty. (The dogs or the cops).<\/p>\n

\n\tAcross A&E and FYI, WWE\u2019s LFG<\/em>, Biography: WWE Legends<\/em> and WWE\u2019s Greatest Moments<\/em> got renewed for new seasons, as did Beer Budget Reno<\/em>,\u00a0Rachael Ray\u2019s Meals in Minutes<\/em>,\u00a0Oceanfront Property Hunt<\/em>,\u00a0Lakefront Luxury, Million Dollar Zombie Flips, Instant Italian<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0The Chef\u2019s Garden<\/em>. Million Dollar Mountain Homes<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Zombie House Flipping: Family Business<\/em> received series orders.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
