The two-minute teaser (watch it below) stays true to that idea: There\u2019s a shot of Kyle Chandler\u2019s Hal Jordan taking flight and a brief look at a (beat-up, faded) Green Lantern suit, but the vibe is much more Southwestern murder mystery than intergalactic adventure.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lanterns  | Official Teaser | HBO Max\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z1jcPlGXnMo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tStill, a nod to the history of the comics comes right away, when new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) gripes to Hal that in two months of training, he has yet to wear the Green Lantern Corps ring. \u201cDon\u2019t get hung up on the jewelry, Junior,\u201d Hal tells him. \u201cYou\u2019re just a fuckin\u2019 substitute teacher. You\u2019re not ready to get up in front of the class till the ring says you are\u201d \u2014\u00a0in keeping with the long-standing canon that the rings choose their wearers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tThat moment is bookended at the end of the teaser when Stewart asks Jordan if he talks to the other Lantern Corps members. \u201cI\u2019m the only human,\u201d Jordan replies. \u201cThey\u2019re aliens. One of them\u2019s a fuckin\u2019 squirrel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tIn between, Jordan and Stewart become involved with \u201ca murder in the American heartland,\u201d as the show\u2019s logline puts it, and Stewart bristles at what he sees as Jordan\u2019s refusal to step aside. The teaser also features Kelly Macdonald as a local cop investigating the murder. Garret Dillahunt,\u00a0Poorna Jagannathan\u00a0and Ulrich Thomsen also star.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHBO says <em>Lanterns<\/em> will premiere in August. The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> comes from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. Mundy (<em>Ozark<\/em>) is the showrunner and executive produces with Lindelof (<em>Watchmen, The Leftovers<\/em>), King, DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, Ron Schmidt and James Hawes, who directed the first two episodes.
