\n\tBilly Porter is getting candid about just how brutal his battle with sepsis was.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Tony and Emmy winner made a recent app<\/a>earance on TS Madison\u2019s\u00a0Outlaws\u00a0<\/em>podcast<\/a>, where he shared that the infection got so serious that he ended up in a coma that left him \u201cdead for three days.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPorter\u2019s health challenges were first revealed in September 2025 when Cabaret<\/em>\u00a0cut its\u00a0Broadway\u00a0run short after the\u00a0Pose\u00a0<\/em>star withdrew from the production as he recovered from a \u201cserious case of sepsis,\u201d according to the production at the time.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow, he\u2019s detailing his months-long health battle, which started when he initially contracted a urinary infection during his Cabaret<\/em> run on the West End in London from January to May. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe medicine in the U.K. is trash,\u201d he said. \u201cFour rounds of antibiotics and 10 to 12 weeks later, it\u2019s a kidney infection with kidney stones. Fast forward, they finally give me medicine. It seems to go away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, after he returned to the U.S. and started rehearsals for the Broadway production of Cabaret<\/em>, \u201cthe kidney stone pain [came] back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBy Tuesday, I checked myself into the hospital because I\u2019m in so much pain,\u201d Porter recalled, as he tried to hold back tears. \u201cThey went in to do a routine check.\u00a0They saw that the kidney stone was trapped in my urethra\u2026 put a stent in, redirected the urine, [and] blasted me with real antibiotics. Not that weak shit. Then go in through my penis and blow up the kidney stones.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPorter hoped his condition would start to improve from there, but things took a turn for the worse.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhen they got in there, there was so much pus, and bile, and infection behind the stone. It bubbled up, and I went uroseptic in minutes,\u201d he recounted, adding that he was then hooked up on life support. \u201cI was dead for three days. I am a miracle. I\u2019m a walking miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor continued, \u201cWhen I woke up, they told me my leg had gone into compartment syndrome, which is when the muscles close in on themselves and cut off the oxygen. So they had to cut me open on either side of my leg while I was in a coma, and from my knee to my hip, leave it open for two days so they could save my leg.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPorted said he\u2019s thankful to be doing much better now, adding, \u201cI am so grateful to be here. It is such a gift.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHe previously updated his fans in December in an Instagram video that he\u2019s \u201con the road to a full recovery. I\u2019m not there yet, but I\u2019m on the road to that\u201d following a \u201cvery challenging four months.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tUrosepsis is a serious type of sepsis, which is a condition in which the body responds improperly to an infection, according to the\u00a0Mayo Clinic. Urosepsis, specifically, is a severe complication of a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) where the infection spreads to the bloodstream.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
