The case targets a core promise of AI agents: completing tasks like shopping on a user\u2019s behalf. If courts restrict how agents access sites, AI agents could face strict limits when interacting with logged-in accounts on major websites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened<\/strong>. U.S. District Judge Maxine Chesney granted Amazon a preliminary injunction Monday in San Francisco federal court.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The order blocks Perplexity from using its Comet browser agent to access password-protected parts of Amazon, including Prime subscriber accounts.<\/li>\n<li>Chesney wrote that Amazon presented \u201cstrong evidence\u201d that Comet accessed accounts \u201cwith the Amazon user\u2019s permission but without authorization by Amazon.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The ruling also requires Perplexity to destroy any Amazon data it previously collected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Catch-up quick.<\/strong> Amazon sued Perplexity in November, accusing the startup of computer fraud and unauthorized access. The company said Comet made purchases from Amazon on behalf of users without properly identifying itself as a bot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s next.<\/strong> The order is paused for one week to allow Perplexity to appeal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What they\u2019re saying.<\/strong> Amazon spokesperson Lara Hendrickson told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-03-10\/amazon-wins-court-order-blocking-perplexity-s-ai-shopping-bots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bloomberg<\/a> (subscription required) the injunction \u201cwill prevent Perplexity\u2019s unauthorized access to the Amazon store and is an important step in maintaining a trusted shopping experience for Amazon customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
