Doja Cat<\/strong> is getting super real about her mental health struggles.<\/p>\n

While defending Chapp<\/a>ell Roan<\/strong> against critics of her constantly clashing with paparazzi in a video posted to TikTok<\/strong> on Friday, the 30-year-old pop star revealed she has been diagnosed with BPD \u2014 borderline personality disorder. She said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I\u2019m happy, to pretend that I don\u2019t like stuff that I do, to appear like everything is okay. I\u2019ll get it done. And it caught up with me, and I think it always does for people. I\u2019m now struggling with BPD.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the Mayo Clinic<\/em>, borderline personality disorder is a mental health condition that \u201caffects the way people feel about themselves and others, making it hard to function in everyday life\u201d and \u201cincludes a pattern of unstable, intense relationships, as well as impulsiveness and an unhealthy way of seeing themselves.\u201d Impulsiveness typically \u201cinvolves having extreme emotions and acting or doing things without thinking about them first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doja shared that she has been \u201cstruggling\u201d with BPD for \u201cprobably forever,\u201d adding that it has been \u201cagonizing.\u201d Oof. The Paint The Town Red<\/em> singer continued:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been in therapy for years now, and I am so relieved and so proud of myself. I\u2019ve made it so far, and I still make mistakes, but it is an eight-year process of curing, treatment, and healing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When it comes to Chappell, Doja made it clear she is not diagnosing her with BPD but wanted to praise her for how she \u201ccan be uncomfortable, comfortably in front of people, and protect herself and be honest.\u201d The Grammy<\/strong> winner went on to explain:<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to learn how to be honest. I had to learn how to be honest with myself. I lied to myself for years, for most of my life, and to see her sit there, and I love it. I love that she can do that without hurting people. She hasn\u2019t hurt one person by being herself, and that shows that I can do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
