Security allowed her to climb up some green dumpsters to take a piece of the carpet, she said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I first moved to LA in 2017 I went to an event at the Dolby the morning after the Oscars,\u201d she said. \u201cThey had a ripped up pile of red carpet and let me take a tiny piece!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple, large rolls of the carpet can be seen in the video.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you want some red carpet, it\u2019s at the dumpster on Hawthorne Avenue,\u201d she said while carrying out the carpet in her arm.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A worker performs final preparations on the red carpet for the Academy Awards. <span class=\"credit\">dpa\/picture alliance via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Later, she\u2019s shown vacuuming the carpet now laid out on the floor of her residence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiving so close now, and genuinely needing a rug anyway, I thought I\u2019d walk down in the morning and find a crew member dismantling everything to ask,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen I saw the carpet was already gone, I assumed I was too late, then was surprised to find it a block away! So I didn\u2019t expect it but I often go into things like this with high hopes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@hellopaigethalia\/video\/7618331226541165854\">another video posted Tuesday<\/a>, Thalia provided an update where she ran into some men with boxcutters after checking again if the carpet was still there. They moved it back behind the security gate and would not let anyone have it, she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry I brought attention to it before you guys could all get some,\u201d she said in the video.<\/p>\n<p>Other people seemed to be able to confirm Thalia\u2019s claims of the red carpet being in the dumpster. One commenter shared a photo and said she was also able to get a piece of the carpet later on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The Post reached out to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science<\/a>s, which organizes the Oscars ceremony, for details on the discarded carpet, but did not hear back.<\/p>\n<p>Many famous celebrities <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2026\/03\/15\/style\/the-best-dressed-celebrities-at-the-oscars-2026-teyana-taylor-jessie-buckley-rose-byrne-and-more\/\">stepped onto that very same carpet at this year\u2019s Oscars<\/a> hosted Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>A picture showing trash, including discarded water bottles and snack packets, strewn across\u00a0Hollywood\u2019s Dolby Theatre\u00a0also got a lot of attention on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 sparking backlash over the hypocrisy of the elite, who grandstand about the environment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAren\u2019t some of them environmentalists?\u201d\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Theofliplife\/status\/2033419984890908928\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one critic pointed out<\/a>. \u201cWhere\u2019s all that \u2018protect the planet\u2019 energy now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A source within the Academy insisted the social media post was taken out of context and was a \u201cmisunderstanding.\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/16\/us-news\/oscars-aftermath-pic-exposes-climate-hypocrisy-of-celebrities\/#\"\/><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
