The Algorand Foundation said it has a \u201cmore sustainable alignment\u201d of resources with the protocol\u2019s long-term business priorities.<\/p>\n

The Algorand Foundation, the organization behind the Algorand layer-1 blockchain, said it had made the \u201cdifficult decision\u201d to reduce its headcount by 25% on Wednesday, blaming the crypto slump and wider uncertainty.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis decision was not taken lightly and is in response to the uncertain global macro environment as well as the broader downturn in crypto markets,\u201d the Algorand Foundation said<\/a> in an X post.<\/p>\n

The Algorand Foundation said the affected employees were \u201cbest-in-class contributors\u201d and described the decision as \u201cincredibly tough,\u201d adding that it would support staff through the transition.<\/p>\n
