The anime is based on a light novel <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> written by\u00a0<strong>Satsuki Nakamura<\/strong>\u00a0and illustrated by\u00a0<strong>Kana Yuki<\/strong>. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the books\u2019 synopsis as such:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><em>In the Kingdom of Ei, five clans put forth their maidens as imperial consorts\u2014but only one will be crowned empress. Just when frail and beautiful \u201ccourt butterfly\u201d Kou Reirin seems poised to marry the crown prince, jealous \u201ccourt rat\u201d Shu Keigetsu steals her body! Reirin wakes up in the dungeons as the conspirator, and things look dire\u2026or do they?
