That seems to be the crux of \u201cidk idk,\u201d the newest single by Jim Legxacy, and his first since last summer\u2019s world-beating <i>Black British Music<\/i>. \u201cI was livin\u2019 on the floors, didn\u2019t stop,\u201d feels ecstatic with hindsight, but \u201cidk idk\u201d points to the unrelenting economics that keep trend cycles churning and tobacco stuck in overworked jaws around the world, the pressure to produce no matter our physical or emotional exhaustion.\n          <\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>\n            \u201cNearly two years since I lost you, wanna cry,\u201d Legxacy swoons, and for a few bars, a crowd of metronomic handclaps <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears, as if to carry him on before he can break down. The allusion to the artist\u2019s late younger sister seems to date \u201cidk idk\u201d to the late summer or early fall of last year, not too long after the release of <i>BBM<\/i>. It seems natural that a hard-earned professional milestone would be dwarfed by the labor of grief, and it\u2019s to his credit that Legxacy\u2019s tremulous vocals carry so much emotional weight without collapsing into the maudlin or trite.\n          <\/p>\n<p>\n            But Jim has never been given to self-pity, and so the trepidation of \u201cidk idk\u201d hits like cold water, an acknowledgement that no matter how talented, diligent, and unrelenting we may be, victory is handed to us mortals by the gods. Laced with an analog sample beat and twinkling harmonies courtesy of Natanya, the track\u2019s airy jerk instrumental highlights his delicate, blink-and-you\u2019ll-miss-it chorus.
