\n\tThe Runarounds<\/em> has been canceled after one season at Prime Video. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe news<\/a> comes after the installment dropped on the streamer in the beginning of September, with no word on its future since. The coming-of-age drama hailed from Outer Banks<\/em> creators Jonas and Josh Pate, who formed a real-life rock band to star at the center of the musical coming-of-age drama. <\/p>\n

\n\tWilliam Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zend\u00e9 Murdock and Jesse Golliher starred as the band on the show, and they are currently on tour offscreen. The group was formed in 2021 after Jonas\u00a0issued a casting call for a group to app<\/a>ear on the Netflix hit\u00a0Outer Banks<\/em>. Lilah Pate, Maximo Salas, Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah, Mark Wystrach, Brooklyn Decker, Hayes MacArthur and Shea Pritchard rounded out the season one cast. <\/p>\n

\n\tJonas previously told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> he had a five-season plan for The Runarounds<\/em>. Season two would have followed the group in a \u201csuper crappy van on the regional tour playing colleges and 200 capacity rooms\u201d as they worked to performing at a premium festival, before ending with them opening at Bonnaroo.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHe had plans for season three to track the group opening for another band on a European tour before the fourth installment would position them as \u201ca headliner with 5,000 capacity rooms and all the pressures and issues with fame.\u201d Season five, then, would have captured the band on a stadium tour. <\/p>\n

\n\tJonas explained, \u201cThe dream is can I legitimately take this all the way and feel like you actually were in the van with them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA synopsis for The Runarounds<\/em> read: \u201cOver the course of one unforgettable summer, they throw themselves into the pursuit of their big break \u2014 falling in love, getting into trouble and building the kind of bonds that feel like family along the way. With original\u00a0music, romantic entanglements and the raw highs and lows of coming-of-age,\u00a0The Runarounds<\/em>\u00a0captures the rush of risking everything at the edge of adulthood to chase your dreams.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
